Like most products, websites can cost a little or a lot, depending…. Many individuals just getting started waste a lot of time with “simple” DIY solutions and end up with headaches and useless sites. A professional website (not just one that looks slick or fancy, but one that works well, lasts a long time, and serves your business goals) will cost a minimum of a few thousand dollars, but most of my clients find the investment well worth it. Can you spruce up my out-of-date website? Sure. I can usually do a close approximation of the look and feel of your site, but with improved usability, or I can do a full-on redesign. I’ll generally advise on strategies for modernizing, but for many features, my philosophy is “if it aint broke, don’t fix it.” What parts of the site will I be able to update myself? Most “static” pages (with relatively constant content) are built with simple blocks, requiring a very small learning curve; but once you’ve got that down, you’re golden. I specialize in building sites with unique content modules and making them completely updatable for non-technical users. Think recipes, classes, events, news items — anything where the pieces change or grow and you want to have control over how and when they appear on your site. If you’re feeling ready to roll, and want to get a good jump out of the gate, here’s a more detailed inquiry form you can fill out to supply me with all your project info to get us started quickly. Of course, there’s no obligation, and I won’t put you on any mailing list!
